Did you have run new wire for the upgraded trolling motor? It’s a 24v right?

If you are looking at buying these things for your boat, DON'T!! I put these things on my brand new aluminum trailer to hold my boat, thinking that all f the "reviews" were good. After the VERY FIRST trip to the water, the next time out they became hard to release. I then took them off, sprayed them inside with corrosion X, lithium grease and even MAX WAX!! They made three trips to the water, after the third trip I had to cut the straps with my knife to release my boat from the trailer. I currently have two giant chunks of rusted together garbage to show for my money. DO NOT BUY, unless you like throwing your money away.

We all get frustrated. I was ready to sell my gear after a bad tournament this year. Then turned around and won 2 back to back.

Just some tips for when you are using broadheads when your fingers are stuck out like that, you could have a trip to the ER

Excellent video and attitude bro I'm switching over to schimino im an experienced caster and I've heard good reviews on the reel. And my opinion anything that helps us get less backlashing is a plus. I want longevity i mean I've seen two different people on u tube test the casting distance on the SLX DC and he was getting to 189 feet bro that's far . But we want a reel that's going to last . I don't like that these schimino reels don't have 10 ball bearings in them but every review I've read says they are smooth as butter. But anyway thanks for the great tips on the slx dc I'm going to buy one and try it out. God bless you and your family.

why put in live well? picture it weigh it measure it and back in the lake. I been fishing dripping springs and okmulgee for over 20 years. it now will be over fished for sure, should have a limit to how much pressure it will get, liked the show but need to get the bass back in the lake not in the live well #1 is take of the bass.😊

Just got one, tried it. Got an abu Garcia max4x for $55 instead. Way way smoother. Will be returning the bass pro tomorrow.

Pull the vinyl up and lay down some hydro turf.

Unfortunately for them to work properly they don’t cast far. If you utilize all the backlash features it does not cast very far. But if you set it up like other bait casters they do cast well but then you’re paying a premium for features you don’t need because your still fine tuning and feeling with your thumb while making cast to prevent line flare or backlash. They also cast a heck of a lot farther when they’re not filled 95% full. 🙂

I just bought this reel. The numbers on the magnetic brake dial are completely illegible. I had to take a picture zoomed in on my phone to see if there were even numbers on it. The numbers are there but the engraving is so small.

I just took mine out of the box 6.3:1 and the cap on the handle knob went flying off when I spun the handle which was kinda cool bc it let me know what that wrench coin that came with it was for bc I just couldn’t figure it out but yeah it’s a heavy beast I just hope it doesn’t do what my last Lexa is doing which is making a terrible noise while casting as in when the line is coming out and not just in the beginning but all the way to the last ten feet almost a clicking sound and I’m sure it’s just lube but it just happened so fast and the same sound comes out of my buddies tatula and that happened pretty quickly too only a few trips with the 150 size and I have that reel as well in the 300 size and while I don’t think it’s making the sound it does slow down insanely fast once it should have another 15’ more to go it acts like you are thumbing the spool heavy to stop the bait enough that you don’t have to thumb it at all in open water to slow it down of course on the end of the cast but sometimes I test that too and no backlash and I’ve got it set to 3 throwing a Bucca Burrito and sometimes a 3oz glide but my older model Lexa the matte black one cast a lot better than the tatula and I also hate the wide open T shape like guide bc it rides on top and just annoys the hell out of me and doesn’t help with anything but yeah I’m wondering what good it does to make the handle like this bc it’s no longer than the double knob so I don’t see any more leverage coming from it but if it’s just as good or better than this older Lexa that looks no diff other than shiny blue paint and “power handle” I will be very happy as I love my other Lexa bc in the 300 size Shimano has disappointed me terribly with their drag system not working hardly at all and that’s the curado 300 and the tranx 300 and the tranx 200 too but the drag on all my Diawas have a healthy click to them and are very adjustable. Good luck I think I’ll buy this one again.

Dude, I have fished 8 and 5 hour tournaments and never had a bite all while my partner put 12 fish in the and caught all five keepers. We have those days and that’s just fishing.

You are so right ! That vinyl gets so dang hot. My wife wanted it over the carpet. I would like to remove the rod tubes. I hate them. I have the TF model as well in a 2023.. 75 hp mercury four stroke. The Edge trolling motor sucks and I’m planning to up grade.

Hey Oki fishing I have a question ❓ for you have you had any issues with the reel seat . Because I've heard some guy's saying it not the same as a standard seat and they had problems tightening down the reel . Give me your thoughts.

I've been using the Wild Edge Steps for 3 seasons and have allot of climbs under my belt. I'm 6'2" about 90 lbs. lighter than you, however, I've had mine slip as well. I thinks its tree related and the degree of unevenness of the bark. I just always make sure before I begin my assent that I'm attached to the tree. If it slips, I don't take a fatal fall. I've also got a set of Lone Wolf tree sticks and I've had them slip as well for the same reason. I'm planning to modify my steps by converting the ropes to 1/4" Am Steel to eliminate some rope bulk.

I love the Lexa but found the okuma komodo. It's all stainless steel drive train and 50 dollar cheaper price sold me. I own other okuma reels as well as diawa saltists and shimano reels. Awsome review on an awesome reel.

Howdy from Lawton Oklahoma. I was thinking of buying this reel for my big swimbaits. To replace my tranx 200. I was going to get the 300 Lexa but with the regular handle.

Honestly there unsafe, use climbing stakes from hellium and maybee use them for platform to step around tree, the truth is they bend with big boys like us, so Honestly carey the extra weight of climbing stakes and forget them there is just too many negative variables 😢

I got this baitcaster and I am trying to learn to use it, so I was practicing last weekend and one thing I noticed is that if I try to start my cast with the power of the throw immediately I get a birds-nest, but if I hold off until the rod is past the halfway point of the cast and I put the put into the flick of the rod tip, no birds-nest and I get max distance. It is a very subtle adjustment, but I think these baitcasters are all about subtle adjustments. I hope this helps someone.

I noticed you never tell your viewers what lake you fish. In my book you loose all credibility. Not interested in watching you anymore. Good podcasts share lakes, and lures and tecniques to help fellow anglers get better and enjoy the sport. Moving on to better podcasts.

Something I’ve done to cut down on condensation in boxes is “insulate” the box’s lid with an evp type foam “sea dek” so there is no where for the condensate to build. I’ve seen some guys use thicker foam and hang baits from it and just replace when it gets worn but I hate baits out of boxes especially ones with treble hooks.

Have been looking into a low cost trail cams that our neighborhood can put up at the 3 problem areas for graffiti. Every couple of weeks the community gets together to paint over the ugly mess, which us great, but I was thinking instead of wasting money & time cleaning up after these a**hats, why don't we just make them famous then they can waste their time cleaning up their own mess and if were lucky, feel humiliated while their at it and not do it again 🤷. Worth a try. I'd donate mine on a temp basis but ... I paid over $150 for mine & don't quite feel that generous..yet. Thanks for showing the image quality, good picture.

Ive fished ft gibson dam a couple of times for sandbasss and catfish but i havent tried snagging yet im gonna give it a try

easier to cut 10 foot of line an lose a bait than to bust off a tip on a tree limb.
